1. General Home & Safety Standards
(Applicable to all Hosts)
- Accessibility: Clear directions and entry instructions must be provided to guests upon booking confirmation.
- Cleanliness: The hosting space must be clean, clutter-free, and sanitary.
- Safety: Floors must be dry and non-slippery. Adequate lighting must be provided in all guest areas (entrance, activity space, restrooms).
- Listing Accuracy: Photos uploaded to the platform must accurately represent the actual space used for the Experience.
- Ventilation: The space must have adequate ventilation (windows open or air-conditioning).
- Pets & Animals:
- Any pets in the home must be disclosed in the listing description.
- Pets must be friendly, trained, or supervised.
- Hosts must be willing to separate pets from guests upon request (e.g., in a separate room).
2. Category Specific Requirements
If you are hosting a Cooking & Dining experience:
- Certification: You must hold a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 Certificate.
- Allergens: Common allergens (nuts, shellfish, dairy, etc.) must be clearly disclosed.
- Age Restrictions: If alcohol is served or present, the listing must be restricted to 18+.
- Hygiene: Kitchen surfaces, storage areas, and fridges must be clean and hygienic. A dedicated handwashing area with soap must be available.
- Safety: Knives and sharp tools must be stored safely when not in use. Flammable liquids must be kept away from heat sources.
If you are hosting an Arts & Crafts experience:
- Materials: All materials used should be non-toxic unless explicitly disclosed and safety measures are in place.
- Ventilation: If using paints, glues, or solvents, the room must be well-ventilated.
- Safety Gear: Appropriate protective gear (gloves, masks, aprons) must be provided if required by the medium.
- Supervision: The use of cutting tools or sharp objects must be supervised at all times.
If you are hosting a Fitness & Wellness experience:
- Space: The activity area must be clear of obstacles and fragile objects.
- Flooring: Non-slip flooring or yoga mats must be provided to prevent injury.
- Clarity: The intensity level of the workout must be described clearly in the listing.
3. Session Protocol
(Before every guest arrival)
- Preparation: The hosting area must be cleaned and sanitised before every session.
- Materials: Ensure all ingredients, materials, or utensils provided are fresh and in good condition.
- Equipment: Check that all equipment is functioning safely; do not overload power outlets.
- Welcome: Hosts are expected to greet guests personally and provide a brief orientation (toilet location, safety exits, house rules).
